I know that this may seem to be a shallow question, but I was given a pair of beautiful pearl earrings by my aunt for my wedding. This is wonderful because they were worn by my great-grandmother Ruth to her wedding. (She must have been VERY outlandish in those days to have worn pierced earrings!) The thing is – my ears aren’t pierced. I know, I know, it is almost shocking to see a woman who doesn’t have pierced ears anymore.

It’s not that it is “against” any moral, religious or personal codes that I hold dear, it’s just that I haven’t done it. I would love to wear the earrings (what an honor) but would it be wise to have them pierced so soon before the wedding? The wedding is on Good Friday, right at a month from now.

Any advise? Thanks from a very honored, yet nervous bride-to-be.

Within the next few years, after my own wedding is over and we’ve moved into our new place, I’m determined to start my own event planning business after being an office event coordinator for a couple years now. I was wondering how you event/wedding planners starting your own business. I plan on stocking up on plenty of event planning business books (event planning for dummies, anyone?), but does anyone else have any advice for me? Where to begin? What’s most important? I’d love to hear it! Thanks in advance.

FIANCEE

I lived in Miami for 2 years and a half, my visa expired over there. I met my boyfriend, we are deeply in love, and unfortunately I had to come back to my country Colombia, because my mom got sick. Now we want to be together and we plan to do the fiancee visa, but we are afraid that it can be denied becuase I stayed illegal in the states.
